Rooting cacti..... so i recieved pups from my parents in Dec, they are seemingly fine. No discoloration and firm. However still not rooting!!! Is there some trick to this? I have some things I was going to try with humidity levels, but don't want to lose the pups, so figured I'd ask if any of the Cacti people know of a good tips.

At this time of the year it can take them quite a while to root. Cactus in general are pretty slow.

Heat helps them pop roots. I use a grow tent to control the environment. Maintain a VPD of .8-1. Or you could try water propagation. Hover the bottom of cacti over water. I have personally used both these methods

I've never water propped cacti before. I was seeing a bit about upping the temp though

I have used a shot glass to water prop pups, but don’t soak them, leave the water level just below by a hair to make the roots grow out to it. If needed it’s helpful to use plastic wrap and a rubber band, then poke a hole for the roots to fit through

Rn I'm trying to do it with succs.. I took a jar, filled it with water p high but not all the way, and punctured plastic wrap to stick the leaves into and trap humidity and letting them sit above the water. My first time doing this so we shall see what happens with the humidity chamber. Can't say I've done this with a true cactus tho unfortunately.
