I just got this from a thrift store I don’t know what kind it is and have never owned a succulent. What are the first things I should do?

PhilLooks like it may be a type of sedum adolphi. First thing I do for new succulents is repot. Get them out of the nursery soil and remove as much as possible from around the roots. Use a high grit succulent soil. If you choose miracle grow, amend it with more grit. I suggest a shallow terracotta planter with drainage. Water when soil is totally dry. And this sedum requires a lot of bright light.

NikillerLooks specifically to be gold sedum adolphi. Looks just like mine. Not to be confused with golden dust sedum adolphi (2nd pic) that grows more like a burrows tail than the gold does
