Hi everyone! I had the most delicious mango yesterday and ended up with this GORGEOUS seed. I’m so excited! I would like to grow this into a fruiting tree. Does anyone have any pro tips? I’ve grown avocado seeds but never a mango seed.
make sure not to put it outside where squirrels can reach, they will eat even the sprouted mango

hihi! i know i'm a little late, but i'm also growing a mango currently and i just want to advise you that mango are heavy feeding trees and are prone to nutrient deficiency, which is the most common cause of death for mango trees. also know that the tree you have will likely never flower indoors. standard mango varieties, like the one you have, often take upwards of 8 years to begin blooming. there are some wonderful dwarf varieties that can absolutely give you fruit indoors much quicker (3 or 4 years) and remain a much more manageable size. dwarf trees rarely exceed 8 feet and can be pruned smaller, but normal mangoes can grow well into the 50s and 60s of feet tall as they age and can generally only be cut back to 15-20 feet tall and still produce. if your goal is fruit, i highly advise you to get a dwarf variety instead of trying to grow a standard mango tree indoors.
