Not sure what to do with these guys! I’m sure I need to bring them in as temps in Iowa are getting in the 40s at night. I assume they want sun? The long straggly thing, I’m not sure it’s doing well. Any advice??

    I live in Des Moines and just brought all my guys in since it’s starting to get cold, succulents and cacti can live in the house through Iowa winter but they will significantly slow in growth and still require high amounts of light. Put in your sunniest window and only water very very sparingly between now and February, otherwise invest in a grow light and set it to a 12 hour setting. Menards has decent ones for as low as $20. As for your strings i’d recommend trying to propagate. Cutting will encourage new growth at the base and where it’s naked. Cut pieces can be placed in dry soil with about an inch of stalk beneath the medium. Leave alone and dry for about a week, then water. Treat the same as your others and keep super dry through the winter. Can add into the pot in spring to fill it out or can keep separate for a new plant.
