What can I do to where soil doesn’t come out of the pot drainage holes when I water it?

    Put a coffee filter in the bottom than put the soil ontop

    Layer of chunky potting mix at the base of the pot to “cover” the hole. Works well for my small - medium pots.

    Mesh and if you buy a roll you can cut out large pieces for large pots

    Instead of buying mesh I have an old pair of tights that I cut pieces out of to put over the holes before adding soil. Can also save things like broken window screens that would otherwise get thrown out!
