Can I please get some advice on how to care for this plant, please. This is not mine. I have a few cuttings and she doesn’t look well. The bottom leaves keep falling off one by one and the bottom is now bare. Thank you for any advice and help. I appreciate it.
Looks like a type of trandescantia-maybe a dragon tail- is that right? If so, are the leaves turning crispy before they fall off? With trandescantias, the leaves will often crisp and die if they get any water at all on their leaves (while indoors), so I only bottom water mine to make sure I don’t get the leaves wet at all. I also noticed they’re more sensitive to drying out and will drop leaves pretty quickly whenever I go too long in between waterings. I will also note that it’s normal to a degree for trandescantias to lose their lower leaves when growing indoors after a certain point; they’re naturally crawling plants in the wild, so when the stems can’t root into the soil anymore because they’re in a pot, they naturally start to decline and require pruning + propogation to keep looking nice indoors. Lots of pruning and bottom watering will help slow/control the process, though!
