Hi! I recently got a purple passion plant and am wondering on how to increase humidity without a humidifier. Would having it in decorative pot with a little bit of water sitting in it help? š

Pretty fly 4 a CactiAs long as the water couldnāt soak into the soil otherwise youāll risk root rot. Your idea is on the right track anyway. The most common method is using a tray filled with pebbles, keeping the waterline below their tops and sitting the pot on top of the pebbles. The other ways to increase humidity are clustering plants close together or putting a clear plastic sandwich bag or cloche/bell jar on top

The decorative pot is a few inches too deep for the nursery pot so I have a small rock holding it up from the bottom of the pot where the water is. The water isnāt actually touching the pot. Do you think that would be okay? Iām considering the pebble tray method, but I donāt have the things I need for that rn so Iām wondering if the decorative pot will work.

It should work but the reason people go for trays instead of high sided pots is because having the whole nursery pot enclosed with a layer of water below will keep the soil damper for longer after watering (wont be able to evaporate well) which increases the chance of getting root rot so it will be fine for short term but if you go long term youāll have to monitor the soil more and likely decrease your watering schedule

eatyacarbslooks like pretty fly has the info covered but I had to share this in case you didnāt know (I learned the hard way.) These flower and the flower STINK like feet. Like the worst gym socks. I had it at my desk at work š

I saw things where people said they smelt š That sounds gross, I didnāt think they smelled that bad! Iāll probably take the flowers off if it ever flowers š
