My grandmother enlisted my help cleaning her house and I found this giant Aloe plant growing out of the pot! It has to have been growing like this for years. Any ideas how to get it seated back inside the pot? Thanks!

    There isn't really a way I know of to shift an aloe once established. The hardened stem makes moving it impossible. This is normal behavior for them, to drape out of their pot. Similar to a succulent, you can behead them, callus over a few days and replant.

    I paid to go to a plant microcosm lecture. And part of the perks were a behind the scenes look at the UW gardens, and they had these huge person sized agave, cactus, and aloe that were 100s of years old. And some had these crazy elaborate support systems of rods and ropes holding them up because their grown patterns were all over.
