Help! 🙈 I ordered a string of hearts, and when I go back home today, what if it has spider mites or pest ! Do I spray down with my spray? What is the fastest way to get it without past so that way, I can put it with all my other plans without worrying about them?!!!
I personally never get spider mites anymore. I technically don’t know if it’s because I’ve got the secret to keeping them away or if it’s just a coincidence lol. So take this with a grain of salt. But I’ve read that spider mites don’t like humidity, and I have my plant room at 45-55% humidity whenever possible (higher in mold resistant terrariums). So you could put it near a humidifier or an aroma therapy mister. If it was a water-loving plants I’d suggest spraying, but a SoH is not going to appreciate being directly wet that often. I would definitely do a first rinse though, just to get a majority off and down the drain. It’s best to keep it away from other plants until it’s been clear for a month or two, unless you want to treat all your plants

Always isolate new plants in a different room for a few weeks before adding them to your collection
