What is the best way to take care of this lucky bamboo? Anything I need to watch out for? Its currently growing in a water thingy with no soil, no clue what thats called.

There were medium sized river rocks, to hold it up, in the bottom. But only water otherwise…roots floating everywhere.

NikillerGrowing in a vessel of water is called hydroponics, adding livestock to the water (like planting in a fishtank) is aquaponics. Those usually are always grown in water because they can do so well in it, I have 3 I’ve very different lengths in my fish tank, 2 are actually planted in the tank with only the leaves sticking out of the water, and one is being aquaponic grown in a basket at the top of the water until its stalk grows long enough to plant. You could just keep moving it to larger vessels of water as its root system develops or plant it in some slightly acidic well-draining soil and see if it can handle the environment stress of moving to soil.

The lucky bamboo with no stalk is the plant with the striped leaves in the basket up from with the dirty brown looking roots. We keep the tank “dirty” for the shrimp hiding everywhere, and the roots of the plants are all stained brown from the tannins in the water that we add for the betta. The other two lucky bamboo are planted in the very back right where they’re difficult to see because of the banana plant
