My orchid is growing a new stem and idk what to do now that it is growing. I usually kill these but after it was dying I put it in a corner and forgot about it. Now new stem. Any words of advice would be helpful.

    i normally cut the flower spikes off after they finish blooming. yours is growing a new spike from the old spike, which does happen! this is normal and totally ok, just means new blooms are on the way 🥳 however, the reason i choose to remove the spikes after blooming is because this encourages more blooms in the next cycle. i wouldn’t remove this now that it’s already on its way. but if you want more blooms next time, snip this whole thing off at the base after this finishes blooming (probably sometime in the spring)

    Thank you! I just cut off the dead parts of the stem and thought it was a goner. I appreciate the help.
