Can someone explain when to use neem oil? Will it help with gnats ?

    still a new plant mom, but i think it helps with a multitude of critters. it’s almost like a scented deterrent for most insects ? (not sure)

    Watering with a diluted mixture of neem oil should help get rid of the larvae in the soil.

    Neem oil will help to get rid of aphids. I had an indoor/outdoor pepper plant last year that was infested with aphids. The neem oil helped but you also need to be careful you do it at night so the plant’s leaves won’t get burnt. Neem oil on a leaf and sun can essentially sun burn the leaves.

      Furthermore if you have gnats, they’re attracted to your plants that continually have moist soils beds. I have a fern and have some seeds planted in grow cells that are all very wet soil so I have some gnats hanging out in that corner. I bought a gnat plug in light that has a sticky back and that damn near fixed my gnat issue! Plug it in at night and have it be the only light source in the area and they’ll flock to it and get stuck.

    Neem oil does help and you can sprinkle cinnamon on the top of the soil to help prevent more once you get it under control. I also highly recommend the zeevo bug trap plug in. It’s a little light with s tricky trap for bugs and the off brand refills from Amazon run fairly cheap. I do all my outdoor seeding inside on top of my house plants and it has saved us sooo much trouble with flies and gnats.
