HELP!!!!! I bought a Chinese evergreen and initially placed her inside my apartment where she would get indirect bright light and she started drooping and dying. I’ve placed her in my room but I felt like she was in the dark like in my bathroom. It’s been pretty humid outside and I read they like humidity but idk if I’m doing the right thing. She does have some shade out here but idk if it’s right. 🥺
Copying and pasting my comment on another post bc I’m lazy! : How are the roots looking? If she’s yellowing and drooping, it’s most likely a watering issue. If her roots are overgrown, then give her a new pot that’s an inch larger than her root ball. If the roots are brown and mushy, remove all decaying matter, dip in a solution of hydrogen peroxide and water, then repot and clean soil and I’d recommend watering with arbers fungicide and a couple drops of hydrogen peroxide as these will help prevent further damage

1 like Of course! Feel free to reach out if you have more questions or run into any issues! I’d also do a quick pest check on the leaves if she’s new! These like humidity so I’d recommend keeping her in the recommended light area but add a dish with water and pebbles or marbles underneath her! When the water evaporates it reaches her leaves! Grouping plants together also helps create more humidity. You can also try facebook marketplace for a cheap humidifier if you intend to have a large collection eventually!

If you recently got her id usually caution to look at the roots and repot, not just for root issues but alot of agleonemas, especially the colorful ones are potted in plastic cages that can hurt the plant in the longrun!! Colorful aglaonemas are a bit more finicky with light though. I'd say the best place is probably somewhere between the light you'd expect from a north window and a west facing window. Feel the brown leaves is probably gonna be the easiest key. If it's papery then definitely too much light, if it's mushy it's probably had too big of a drink and may have root rot
