I was gifted this huge zz plant. I put it in a corner that didn’t get a lot of light. I seen a couple branches turn yellow. I moved it to a window that faces northeast. She now gets morning sun. She still is turning yellow but also new shoots. So confused what’s happening?! I only water her with my fish tank water…….help! I don’t want to kill her
She’s beautiful!! Not sure that I have much advice, but how often are you watering her?
0개 좋아요At first maybe once a week. Then I was told every month. That size of plant I’m not sure how much at a time. I now know to wait until soil is dry all the way through. Before I would water when it was dry on top of soil

Overwatering is usually the main cause for yellowing leaves on a zz plant. Zz plants can basically thrive off of neglect. They really do not need that much water to survive. Only water this beauty when the soil is 100% dry.

This is another plant with bad PR like the humble Snake Plant. They are sold as “low light tolerant” but the truth is they just survive in low light, not much else. They THRIVE in bright light. East or west window would be best, but a few feet away from a south would work too. Hate to say it but NE is probably the worst option lol
