I am new to planting. I just bought a naked root pot and I was wondering how long do I keep my plant in the water before I pour it out? Also why is all of my plants soil molding on top? I put them in the pots twoish weeks ago.

I’m not sure about the pots. (Not a fan of self watering pots for most plants). But as far as the molding, do you have good airflow/ lighting? My problem is very little airflow and I get mold on top of my soil. You could also try mixing some cinnamon in the top bit of soil. Cinnamon is a natural antifungal
