Will this grow roots if I leave it in water? It fell off while I was working on a bigger section.

    Yes, maybe take off a few more on the bottom so more of it is in the water. The pieces you take off you can probably prop in soil

    With succulents, it helps to give it a day to a week for the damaged stem to heal over before planting/putting it in water. Letting it callous helps prevent rotting

    pick off a few pieces so you have a few inches of stalk that can be in the soil. you can put it directly in soil just like that but do not water it for about a week so it can callous over. can put the pieces you picked off on top of the soil to do the same thing. water after those few days and keep and eye on it and each piece should start a new plant and your stalk should grow roots and take to soil. did this at the start of the summer and now have tons.

    Hi I had a succulent plant break off I personally found it wok’s better in soil. Lay it across the top add soil over top but don’t totally cover it water and monitor it! It will take time but I think it will work. When I place it in water it became mussy so I tried this approach. How this information helps.

      Ok! I put it in water first and now that others have said to put it in soil, I will do that!
