I have not heard of that. Hoyas can take a really long time to root, so just be patient :) Yours is only a week or two old right?! The less you mess around with them the better. That being said, I’ve found my Hoyas root better/quicker in sphagnum moss vs hydro OR just directly into a small pot of dirt that I put in a ziplock bag. But they will still work in water! Change the water when it gets cloudy or gross. Have it in a bright spot but not direct sunlight, roots don’t like that. And again, patience :)

SuccySuccyBeware of rot! Try cinnamon on fresh cuttings. Then rooting powder.

ThatTattedPlantLadyI’ve heard of Aloe Vera speeding up the rooting but I haven’t heard of honey🤔 let us know if it works!! Rooting hormone powder & sphagnum moss works great on Hoyas if the honey doesn’t work out. Good luck with your Hoya!!!❤️

AcesHighI have heard of this(honey) and have tried it as well. Not sure if it really helped at all. I do water propagation with my Hoyas and add prop drops(you can purchase on Amazon) they make the roots growth within a week or so. Way faster than just plain water.

Well, it’s been almost bit longer than a week and I think I see a little bump coming out…might look into the drops, but maybe just practice patience?

Sure that too! I don’t have that type of patience lol. But if you propagate often, I do love the prop drops. Bottle lasts forever too, you only need a few drops per plant.
