      Why won’t it work? It would suggest in that case that you only purchase plants that can thrive in low light, but maybe someone can recommend some as I haven’t found one that does well in that situation.

    No plants will thrive in low light. Some will take longer to die, but none will thrive.

      I read a book about being a plant parent that said the same thing. If you don’t give plants enough light that they need you’re just slowly killing them.

    Ferns tend to do okay in shade. Ficus benjamina can tolerate low light. Hostas, heucheras, and heucherellas can do well in deep shade, but you may need a dwarf variety for indoor care. Certain terrestrial orchids can do well, but you'd need to look for those that grow on the floor of dense forests. All of them need a minimu level of light, so for your darkest areas you can do fake plants or decorative items instead

      Why can’t you use a grow light? I know someone who has a nice succulent garden in a room with zero windows but a good grow light setup.

    Golden Pothos- mine is on top of my water dispenser and it only gets light from a north facing sliding door that’s 10feet away and the living room light. I don’t have any other light source for it. The app tells me it’s not enough light but it’s doing great. I guess it depends if your space is even darker.

    If you like showy blossoms, I’d recommend some Impatiens! My babies here do much better in the shade than they did when they were given lots of sun!
