Hi! I just got my own plants for the first time ever! I was wondering if I should go ahead and repot them or let them chill out for a bit. I know different people have different opinions so maybe the pros and cons of each? I got them from a local family owned nursery, if that changes any recommendations.
I don’t repot after getting a plant for at least a year so they can adjust and not stress them out more than they are in a new environment! I’ll only do it if they’re rootbound or if the soil is too wet! I just use a cover pot to make them look nice
2개 좋아요I wait about two weeks to let them acclimate. Make sure you treat and inspect for pests. After those two weeks, if they’re root bound I repot, if not I continue to leave alone.

Have fun! I was always guilty of repotting plants in pots that are too big. I have learned from others in the know to go up only a size or two from original pot when repotting. I have also learned not to overwater. Nice group you have there!

Love the calatheas! Pro tip - wipe off their leaves every so often when you see them get dusty. It helps with photosynthesis. I use microfiber gloves and some water with castile soap
