new plant but there is mold on the soil and i don’t know why! there is drainage in the pot any advice?

    Need more air movement - it will be fine - turn on a fan

    It’s because the topsoil stays wet for too long. It has been so annoying for me because my place doesn’t have good air flow. You’ll have to manually remove the mold with a spoon or something similar and replace that part of the soil.

      I use Mollys Aroid Mix and Sol Soils Chunky mix primarily. I will typically add more perlite to it also. Bottom-watering and not getting the topsoil wet will also help the soil dry out faster. I have one plant that got mold on it that was large enough to me to scrape out the moldy soil and replace it with about 2 inches of rock (i used pon since that’s what i had on hand). you can also use LECA or other rocky “soils”.

    Be careful with that mold, it travels easily through wind current. You can put cinnamon on the soil, it’s antifungal. More air circulation will help the soil dry faster in the future. The pot has good drainage? I would worry about rot in the future
