Anyone have any tips on repotting. Iāve never done it, Iām scared that Iāll kill my plant. They are so healthy and growing so strong that I donāt want to mess with him! But heās getting way too big, heās starting to become top-heavy and lean over!
Having a succulent all stretched out like that actually isnāt healthy growth, itās a sign that itās searching for light (called etoliation). The leaves should be much more compact like the guy in the left. Iād chop it back all the way to the bottom where thereās more leaves and chop the very top off to make that a new succulent too. As for repotting - donāt be scared. Just do your best to preserve as many roots as possible and youāll be good
0 gillningar Thatās weird because the picture I took and uploaded to the app said itās healthy looking and then it proceeded to show examples of other dwarf clones that look exactly the same. It spends eight hours a day in full sun so I donāt know how it could be stretching for light š I think Iām just gonna tie it until the other side of the plant can grow as well and then the weight will be evenly distributed. And thereās five different plants in there. The small ones around it arenāt the same, those are blue chalk sticks, theyāre not dwarf clones, itās a different plant altogether. I made the mistake of giving it miracle grow, it was half the size then I went ahead and found miracle grow that I had and I put it in all my plants and now theyāre double the size lol.
1 gilla Oh you know what, Iāve never heard of a dwarf clone before. Upon looking at it yours looks right as rain haha. Just looked like another succulent to me so I gave general succulent advice - whoops! Sorry about that! Learned something new

some succulants have more of a stem than others - it also threw me for a loop when i first saw a tall succulant like that :)
1 gillaI would PERSONALLY chop it near the bottom (where there seems to be a bunch of compact leaves) and then skip the tip about an inch below the compact leaves on top. If you then allow the top part to callous, you can put it in a tiny pot of soil and water sparingly. Put both plants by a bright window or under a grow light and they should continue to grow and remain compact.
1 gilla See there are no leaves at the bottom, thereās five different plants in there, the two blue guys that are on each side of the dwarf clone a.k.a. the real big one, are called blue chalk sticks. They werenāt in there originally when I bought it, they just sprouted up on their own. So I was successfully able to identify what each plant was. What I ended up doing was taking a stick and attaching it to the dwarf clone so it could stand up straight and it doesnāt lean over with the heaviness.

Succulents are resilient I have one that was planted over 6 years ago by my late mother. It was small. Iāve changed the pot only twice. Back in 2021 and last week. In 2022 I just replaced the soil and when I pulled it up, a new stem was growing. Within a few with, it had about 4-5 new growths. Iāve only just changed the pot because it hasnāt grown any bigger in a while, and Iām trying out gardening. Iāve only watered it twice, when I changed the soil and when I changed the pot. My husband changed the pot the first time, so I think he watered it then. The plant has been just fine. Just get a spade or knife to help loosen it up and it should just slide out.
