New and seeking advice for plant care.(: When needing to water, fertilize, mist, and clean leaves (going to use water, neem oil, peppermint castille soap, and alcohol mixture) what would be the best order? I’m thinking 1. Water (adding the liquid fertilizer) 2. Clean leaves with spray mixture then wipe down 3. Mist?

I’m not sure about order but that does make sense. Just wanted to give you a warning… from experience isopropyl alcohol can burn your leaves if left on the leaf and out in direct sun. I’ve only heard Castile soap/alcohol use for pest treatment and neem is for leaf cleaning so you might not need all 3 for regular cleaning. (Neem is also a pest preventative treatment ftr)
3개 좋아요 Thank you, good to know! I’ll do it in the evening. I’ve only had my plants for a couple weeks. Haven’t seen any pests aside from a few honey ants. But some leaves are dirty, and I was hoping this mixture would be dual purpose of cleaning and pest preventative. It’s this one recommended by Paige on TikTok.
Yea maybe do it at night, or just keep the plant out of direct light on cleaning days. I badly burned several pothos leaves bc I left mine outside after doing a pest spray (iso & cattle soap) I didn’t see her video with her recipe! I’ll have to go see if she has it on her IG too. She really knows her stuff so if she says it works I’m sure it does. Her collection is gorgeous!!!

When I want to clean my plants, I'll usually just put them in the shower. You can also just dust the leaves or wipe them with a wet paper towel. You shouldn't need products unless you actually see a pest. Many products can be stressful to plants. But anyway, the order you do things in shouldn't matter much.
좋아요 1개 I hope I didn’t stress them out. Used that mixture to spray/mist them down. It was water/fertilizer day for a few of my plants. I sprayed them after since they were already wet. They’re in 4 inch nursery pots so the shower spray might be too strong for them? I’m scared of root rot, so will def use a damp paper towel as an alternative! Thank you.(:
