Found sister has an airplant with just a little root nub? Can it still get water from this? Looks to be growing healthily otherwise.

    Most tillandsia do not for roots

      And most are not planted. Planting them can rot them. Air Plant Supply Co has good info on care

    Thanks! I don't have vermuch experience w airplants having only 2. This helps a lot!

      They can be easy to care for, but also picky. Especially about drying out after you soak them. I soak mine for like 15 mins or so every 2-3 weeks, and occasionally mist them. And make sure to turn them(sometimes upside down) so they drain and dry to prevent crown rot. They also only live until the flower. So once they flower, after the flower dies back, the plant will pup (form smaller plants of itself) and then die. But ideally you will have a few pups to start the process again.
