Oh no!!! My hyacinths are starting to come up!!! Theyre faaaaaaar too early! What should I do!? Currently they’re in my garage overwintering. We just got a HUGE snow storm (50cm!) and it’s currently -15°C outside so I donno if I should put them on the front step to slow them down or if that’ll kill them. What should I do? The pot is FARRRR too big to bring inside to enjoy. (16” pot)
I'd leave them as is; spring ephemerals tend to be pretty tolerant of sharp temperature changes. The big pot should help; as long as the roots are insulated, they can come back. You could also move them fully outside and pile a bunch of snow on them; it insulates and automatically waters them on warmer days
0개 좋아요 Maybe I should start using snow to water them to slow their blooming? It’s extremely cold out here (and our front steps are covered in 3’ of snow) so I don’t know if I can put them out.
