Do you guys think it’s better to wait to repot a new plant so they can acclimate to the new environment, or to repot right away to “treat” (i.e. fresh soil medium, clean pot, etc.) for any hidden pests? Note: an isolation period is observed in either case.
I don’t really know, but my mom told me that it’s better to repot during the warmer months vs winter months. Although she did say that sometimes you should repot a plant after you buy it, but she didn’t give me any details or circumstances in which you would do that 🤷‍♀️

It’s usually better to wait a few days for the plant to acclimate before repotting because if you repot it’s just causing unnecessary stress, however if there’s a reason that the plant needs to repotted then they’ll usually bounce back fine

It really depends on where I got the plant. I never trust big box stores and always assume they soil had fungus gnats. So I treat and change the soil right away. If a plant shipped in the mail I give it time to adjust first. But mainly because of the stress from shipping. Then I change the soil. So a week at best. I’m not waiting until winter is over and risk my collection getting pest. I don’t have the patience for that And I want to enjoy my plants. I haven’t had any problems but that’s just my experience. But I will say that my grandmother to me the same thing. Lol
3 gillningar Yeah I feel the same way, I’ll usually repot my plant after 4 days, and my anthuriums usually never have a problem with it, if they do then they grow back stronger
