So I got this ZZ from my sister, it had a bulb and seemed healthy, I potted it and put it in my Living room but it hasn’t grown or really changed since I got it a year ago.. what do I do?

eatyacarbsthese need lots of bright light to grow — otherwise they just exist. yours looks like it’s declined a bit since you got it

It gets a lot of bright light, but it’s not geting anything bigger

it doesn’t look bright in this photo. proximity to window? Zz is native to very hot & arid climates in africa. They want to be watered very sparingly and rely on their rhizomes. They are often sold as “low light” plants but it’s bad PR. They thrive in full sun ☀️ directly in a south facing window is best; west facing works in a pinch.

😅 idk what else to tell ya — if it’s been here for a year and has declined it’s safe to say the conditions aren’t right. my exp with Zz is that it needs more light than this appears to be getting. good luck!
