   Ok upon some research it’s a fungus that is harmless in some means. But could also be a sign of over watering or other minerals like salt, here’s a more thorough explanation.. The white substance is most likely a harmless beneficial fungus called mycelium, which indicates healthy, active soil, not a pest or harmful mold. However, it can also be a sign of too much moisture or mineral/salt buildup, so it's important to address those issues to prevent it from becoming a problem. If the white substance forms a web-like layer or appears as fuzzy spots on the soil's surface, it is almost certainly a beneficial fungus.

     Thank you so much!! I live at the beach and have terrible water. I’ve known I need to switch to filtered, so this is my sign!

     It’s hard identify fungus and what type when on the outside looking in. But you say it’s a sign you may need to change to and if I were there I would agree. But definitely follow your instincts especially IF YOU know. And just keep us planta family ppl updated. 😊❤️🙏🏽 I’m sure you got this ..💯

   That's definitely a harmless fungus. It's probably flowerpot parasol. If you let it grow you'll get to see a cute little mushroom. Just don't let any pets or children eat it; it can cause stomach upset
