Just a couple pictures of the VFT after meals First pic it’s a leftover mosquito lol Second pic is barely opening back up after trapping a fly. 🤢 yummy!
My Venus Flytrap terrarium I got from Lowe’s for Valentine’s Day. Still doing OK. I followed instructions on package. Now traps are becoming too big for the housefly pupae I buy for it and have to hand feed and I would find hand feeding other insects too disturbing.
What’s good Carnivorous Corner! Apartment renter in zone 10b. I am looking for recommendations on the next step with my 2y/o Nepenthes alata. Anyone have any recs on how to properly support this? I’ve got the initial vine hitting the ceiling and will probably cut and propogate, but secondary vine is already getting past 2 ft and I’ve got 3 more on it’s way making ground pitchers. We’ve got a cat that likes his greens so unfortunately I cannot lower the pot. Currently I’ve a little plant support halo from Daiso, a bunch of green wire ties, and dowels. I was thinking of maybe a tomato cage but it’s a bit too bulky and not quite as ✨asthetique✨ as I would like.
Is this just an old dying leaf or did something bite out of it? One of the kids I babysit fed it an ant a little while ago and I believe it is the same claw. So did a ant bite through it or am I just paranoid?
I saw this video about an indoor plant set up, could someone let me know if this would work for an indoor carnivorous plant set up? Could someone check it out and let me know if it would work?

How often does a Venus Fly Trap need to eat?
I’m new to carnivorous plants. My VFT is new as of a few months ago. I saw something on here about feeding: can someone tell me more about that?
she is healthy but arrived with a few of these shriveled guys and stems. should i leave them alone or chop them off?
this beauty got here today! i have one question tho, can i use bottled water or should i buy specifically distilled water?
Picked this Sarracenia up a couple weeks ago. First new pitcher under my care coming up super fast! I’ve been surprised with the insane amount of wasps and other bugs these catch every single day. I have it sitting in a big tray of distilled water growing some Azolla ferns.
Help me please. I got this venus fly trap about a month ago and since then all of the traps have died. I have fed it once. I had it in a jar and misted it with distilled water to keep it humid.
I got him
Hi! I’ve had my venus fly trap for about 3 months now. I am really concerned because for the past week, I feel like there is something wrong with my plant. Two traps looks underdeveloped and I sometimes see a tiny insect walking on my plant and I’m not sure what it is (I’ve searched about it and I doubt it’s aphids). Now, the traps are unresponsive when the hairs are triggered except for two of them. One, closed slowly and the other closed halfway. I don’t know what to do. I need help please. I don’t want my plant to die. Thank you! I use the tray method and grow light (I give them 14 hours and sometimes more of light)
I am very worried about getting a flytrap. So did I get everything down: 1: wet feet 2: bright light (I will be using grow and natural light is that fine?) 3: Humidity (I live in a dry climate but rain has helped but I was going to mist and what else?) 4: Need to feed them live bugs 5: Keep in their type of soil (Can I use moss?) I think that’s it?
Hi just got my first Venus Fly Trap and it looks dead can I save this or is this normal?? Thanks
I just ordered my first pitcher plant! A nepenthes alata, I have sphagnum moss but what else/what should I do when she arrives in the mail?
I need help with my sundew! First photo is now, second photo is what it looked like when I got it. When i first got the plant, I put it under my grow lights inside. It lost its color and stopped producing dew because of the low humidity, so I moved it outside. I live in the low country of South Carolina, so I expected that the high humidity would help. It did, but now after having the plant outside for a while it’s starting to look worse than ever. What am I doing wrong? Another note - I am aware that you are only supposed to water sundews with distilled water, but I didn’t have any until very recently. I’m not sure if using tap water would be enough to kill it but I have now switched over to distilled (past day or so) Please help me save my plant!
Heyo just was wondering on one question, I just got a Venus flytrap and it’s extremely healthy but I only have a north facing window in my bedroom. Can flytraps survive on lower light or should I transport it to my other rooms to stay as healthy as it is?
