My flytraps are starting to turn pretty brown and yellow. Are they getting too much sun? The mouths were turning red so I assumed it was alright. The food and watering hasnât changed at all. They get about 8-10 hours from a grow light. Hereâs a before and after for reference. Not the best pics.
What does everyone free their plants? I really want to get a carnivorous plant but Iâm afraid Iâll end up hurting it
Best grow lights for Venus fly traps? They live on my windowsill but my window is north-west facing. Ideally one with a stand. Thank you!

Can anyone tell me whatâs wrong with my Venus fly trap? đ„ș Itâs my first time with carnivorous plants and I really want it to live, so any help is appreciated!
3 VFT and an Sundew Iâve owned a rather small VFT for some time now at least one grow season this summer is a year with it, my traps stay quite small not sure how to feed tiny traps? I canât catch bugs that easy so any food recommendations. I also own a sun dew that I got at a plant show but itâs in a mason jar itâs been ok for a while but not looking to good and even sending off some runners not sure if I should keep it in there as idk how to go about repotting it and also need food recs for that as well. My final question is best method of keeping all these plants together I have 3 VFT variants and wanna keep them together I plan on using the saucer method for keeping them but was wondering on any experience with self watering pots and how well that worked as Iâve found some plant pots that could potentially accommodate my collection.

Evening, my Dionaea muscipula (Venus fly trap) has white bits in the soil that seems to be mould. Iâve only recently bought it and when I bought it, I was charged very little as it was severely dehydrated in the garden centre. I was planning on repotting soon but hoping to revive it a bit more so itâs stronger for the transfer. The pot it came in has drainage holes with the roots poking out the holes into another pot. Iâve read before that this is for putting water in the outer pot for the roots to drink from rather than the soil so this is what Iâve done over the last week or two. Is this correct? Should I repot now and change soil? Is there any way to treat the mould? Thank you!

I received my Venus via mail Friday and repotted Monday⊠are they usually this droopy when you first wrap the moss, repot, etc.?

Hey all! I just picked up 3 species of pitchers. St Gaya, Miranda, and a Black Miracle. From reading all of the posts on here Iâm pretty confident I know when I need to remove pitchers and where to remove them from. Iâm more concerned about light and repotting at this point. I asked before I left and the girl said these would all be ok for a little. đ€đ» very excited to have my first pitchers!
Hi all! I have a Cape Sundew that is now about 10 months old. Itâs doing well overall and has new growth, but is getting a bit of a trunk (see second photoâ reminds me of a fern tree). Is this ok for the plantâs health? Iâm fine with it getting tall but I know some other plant types donât do well with getting leggy. Also, how do you know when to repot? Thanks!
