Hello! My fiancé’s nepenthes is growing quite oddly - it’s producing new pitchers very slowly, most of the ones it did have browned fully so we pruned them, and it seems to be only focused on climbing to the point we had to give it support. We only used distilled water, no fertilizer, and when it had more pitchers we would give it one of my lizard’s mealworms maybe every 1-2 months. Is this normal? What else can we do to help her? First an only carnivorous plant we own and I want to make sure I’m doing right by it. Thank you for any help!!

My Venus Flytrap of three years died last week, or that’s what I thought. I was really busy and forgot poor Pete. I came home to notice his soil bone try and every single trap completely black with mold. I dug down and found the rhizome brown as well. Not a singe speck of green was visible. I was planning to throw him out but hadn’t got to it yet when my brother noticed a tiny sprout a week later. I immediately trimmed all of the dead leaves off and another spout appeared a few days later. It’s like a miracle! I can’t believe the resilience of this little guy!

Pings are exploding in population, I almost have too many to know what to do with!! Same with sundews, I have babies absolutely everywhere
one of my Altas had some light burn but it seems to be doing lots better, huge growth on the other one, and my N.(Viking x ampullaria red striped) X N.Red wing hybrid is still thriving and beautiful :]

Hi! I was looking to get into keeping carnivorous plants. Any tips? Any good beginner carnivorous plants? They’re really cool to me

This is my second attempt at owning a flytrap, and not only is she flowering, she even had a tiny baby with her!

So my son just bought me this I assume it's to stay regular Venus It's in a 2-in pot so It's a little guy still that I was sort of reading up on it and it says that I feed it like say a small mealworm every 2 to 4 weeks And only one of the little pods at a time? And only give RO or distilled water?( I wouldn't trust the rainwater these days jsđŸ™„đŸ„Ž) I have it in my 67 to 70% humidity sunroom at 66° with a fan under a 45w grow light.. now I can find it a spot under the 75 w full spectrum whatever grow lights that I have if needed as well any tips or tricks are much appreciated I'd like to not kill it đŸ™đŸ€Ł since I just got it from the store basically when do I know when it was fed last and when it's hungry again? đŸ˜©FEED ME SEYMOUR! Or do I need to throw it in my unheated 40° laundry room for the winter? I'm in Indiana.. It's cold

So I got a Venus fly trap like 3 weeks ago. I’m about to give up on this one and go get another one unless there’s something I can do to help it. I bought it because I’ve never had one and I always wanted it figured it was like almost every other plant so I brought it home. Started doing research on it and turns out it’s a very advanced plant. I took it out of that terrible pot. It comes in trimmed off all the dead ones inspected it repotted it in a Pete Moss soil. I’ve been keeping it consistently moist and then I found out it’s a bog plant. Meaning have it sitting in a little tray of water so I’ve been doing that using distilled water no fertilizer and it’s still dying so then I found out it has to have direct sunlight which I don’t have anywhere to put it for direct sunlight so I have it under a grow light. Do I have to feed it bugs? I’m honestly very confused of this plant because everything I’m reading is mixed. Is there anything I can do or should I just go buy a new one and restart, knowing the things that I know now and is there anything else I need to know? Also is this “food” good for them where I live in Michigan in winter time is next to impossible to either order live food or pick it up from the store(shipping delays due to cold) Or can I use dried mealworms? Adding a picture of what it looks like now and a description of what type of grow light I have

đŸ„łđŸ€©đŸššNew baby pitcher alert đŸššđŸ€©đŸ„ł Somehow Jugs is not only surviving but thriving in our bathroom (w/south facing window) this winter. Considering we have been in the single digits recently here in NC, I consider this a huge win đŸ€“đŸȘŽ

Got my carnivorous soil and moss mix. From reviews I saw that the soil ppm sometimes is higher than the 50ppm so I washed it with distilled water. Just thought of buying a meter to get better readings while doing this. I removed my VFT (Audrey II) from its store container to find a little baby. So now that makes me a plant grandma đŸ‘”đŸŒ Lets see how well I can grow this little guy Any tips and corrections are welcome as I want to be the best I can.

I am in Los Angeles right now, I was wondering if anyone knew of any places where you could see carnivorous plants 😀

ForensicFlora

First time owner of this cute carnivorous plant. Meet Audrey II. My husband got to experience the little guys first meal while I was at work. Sadden but excited at the same time. Will be re-potting him later today as I had to order the particular soil and collect rain water for the guy
