My late season Sarracenia leucophylla has finally decided to put up a pitcher—I got this plant in May. It’s taken a while to hit its stride, but this beautiful pitcher was worth the wait!!!

Hello! I live in Southern Ontario in Canada and have had my fly traps for about 8 months. They are doing great, but with the colder weather coming I am trying to figure out what to do. I understand they go dormant but online says to put in a garage (this would be far too cold during the winter here) and the person at the nursery said to just keep them indoors and not let them go dormant. I’m building a mini indoor greenhouse for my Pitcher plants to stay in over the winter but want to know what is best for my VFTs. Any help is appreciated!

Recently revived my Venus flytrap who I thought was dead but now it’s back to life

Thinking of adding a carnivorous plant to my collection. I’m wondering if there’s one that eats thrips - I’ve seen one with spiralised long tentacles with red fur at my local garden centre which seems to catch small flies. Any ideas or advice welcome thank you!

Does anyone have experience getting their alata to climb a trellis? I read online she likes to climb so I tied her to one and so far she seems to like it! But if anyone else has climbing alata or other nepenthes I'd love to hear how you accomplished it :)

Got this Drosera the other day and was wondering which one it is, it says Gullalion Drosera on its tag but no luck on the web. Am I just not finding that online or is it a nickname or something? It is very tiny (fingernail length about is the longest leaf) and a spoon shape on the end of them. Sorry very new to this and found it a festival and couldn’t help myself lol

First Fly Trap; First Trap Sprung My first fly trap is only a week into its terrarium and the smallest trap grabbed a bug (I didn’t manage to get it in video), but I’m so excited i had to share it. Also, i know the pads being green instead of red means it’s not getting enough light. New grow light will arrive this week.

I’m needing to repot my pitcher plant, but I was told regular potting soil is not good for them. I found this on Amazon. Has anyone used this or have a better idea of what to use?

I rescued this lil guy 5 days ago off the clearance rack of Home Depot. His buddies were almost all black traps; I had to save him. They were sitting in plastic packages, and the soil was barely moist. I cut off the black traps and repotted him in sphagnum moss, sat him in a container of distilled water and put him directly under my grow light. I can’t put him outside because we get varying temperatures in Sept. I’ve never had a Venus flytrap before (I have a happy pitcher plant though 😁) and he looks a little sad and droopy. He will almost certainly get fruit flies in my house, thanks to my kids haha. I’m wondering if the pot is too small. Do they like space? Is it ok if the traps sit on the moss?

Hi so this is V and I’ve had her for about 3 months I’m wondering how to go about getting her to be more standing tall? Do I repot her? She’s still in the same pot as I got her in and is doing well I think… Also do you wear gloves? Best tips? Soil? Pot size?

Why did all my Venus flytraps heads die I fed it a dead fly it was getting plenty of sunlight I wasn’t leaving it in a dish of distilled water All the traps turned yellow and died what did I do wrong? Also how long will it take for my traps to grow back

Invested in the ikea milsbo cabinet and barrina lights , the rehabs and the beasts have ever been so happy. Huge leaf jumps, tons of pitchers, and sooo much spagnum 😍

Hi guys! I’ve never owned a Venus fly trap before but I had to save this little guy from Trader Joe’s. He gets plenty of sunlight and I usually always have the windows open here and it’s around 90-100 degrees outside where I am. He still looks a little sad, any tips?!
