Just got a new vft my first one died any tips I got this one from a grocery store when I was shopping

Just got these Venus fly traps yesterday from Walmart! Hopefully some sun can help with their droopiness. Any tips are appreciated!

Finally got my first Venus fly trap. I just got it 4 days ago and fed it a slug about 1/4 the size of the trap 3 days ago(Trap I fed the slug to is circled). I was just wondering if this window was enough light for the plant, and if my plant looks healthy. Thanks!

I am so nervous about this plant, but it is one of what I wanted forever and my first one didn’t make it. Why is one of the pictures totally dried up and leaves are turning brown? It is in the original pot from the greenhouse along with whatever soil they used to plant it in. I have changed its location, probably four times and I just don’t know what to do. It is on my front porch in Southwest Florida. It is very humid. do you think it gets too much sun? I try to feel the soil to make sure it’s not really wet but at least moist.

I haven’t updated on Pete for so long everyone probably forgot he existed! His rehab went amazing. He gets dead or starting to die traps but his new ones always come healthy so I think it’s okay, just regrowth. Looks better than ever! 🌱

I was wondering if I could put a humidifier that uses non purified water near my nepenthes pitcher?

Hi! I was wondering if people recommended watering globes for either Venus fly traps or pitcher plants? I’m struggling to keep up with the watering at the moment, so far I haven’t seen any affects of this, but wondering if water globes would cure this? Thanks!

Just wanted to share my Venus . I’m not new to them I had a few when I was younger & I’ll admit I was a sucky vtrap mom . In all fairness people are given the wrong expectations when it comes to carni care it reminds me of what people are told as far as care for Goldfish 😟 at the same time I do think a little research goes a long way . I know better now so decided to get one when I saw it . Honestly it’s pretty big I couldn’t help myself . The traps are wider than my thumb .

Hello! I’m relatively new to carnivorous plants and I’ve got this Sarracenia (Leah Wilkerson)x (Majesty) from CC that has been excelling! I see three new growths that I assume are pitchers coming from the center of it. I noticed a small red sprout coming out of the moss initially I thought it was moss that it was shipped in sprouting but I’m not so sure I went to tug on it and it moved the whole plant! So I’ve left it in place and uncovered it a bit to take the picture. I recovered it immediately. It is potted in LFS and arrived in seemingly peat moss. My question is what is it? Part of the plant or something else? Should I pull it out or leave it be?

I really need some help here. This will be my second picture plant and it’s not doing very well. I’ve moved it to different locations. It says to keep the soil, moist sun, part shade and not to mist. What am I doing wrong? I really don’t want to lose this plant. One picture has already dried up.

Just sharing the tiniest pitchers ever. Found this seedling hiding under my newest nepenthes. Was able to separate it and it’s been doing well for a few weeks at least. For reference for the size of the pitchers, this is a two inch pot.

Hello, I picked up my first Venus fly trap on the weekend and one of the heads (?) is turning black. I think it has a bug inside that was there when I bought it. Is it sick?
