Recently gotten the little guy from Loweâs and repotted them since they were in a jar with next to 0 air flow. Now itâs living in a ceramic bowl with a bunch of moss. Iâm new to carnivorous plants, how quickly do they grow? Is it doing good?
Hey everyone! Iâve had this ping with sundew hitchhikers for a while now and itâs doing great, ( using the tray method ) but Iâm looking for some opinions about what to do about them when winter comes. Obviously, pings go dormant and sundews donât, and pings need to dry out a bit when they are dormant. Would the sundews be ok with this? Or would the best course of action be to separate them when ping starts entering dormancy? Do I seperate them now, or when ping shows signs of dormancy? Ideally, I donât want to mess with them/their roots, since they have been doing so well together so far. But Iâm not sure how that would change if ping goes dormant and has to be watered less. Iâm also concerned about the sundews encroaching on the ping. The sundews are growing surprisingly quickly. TLDR; Do I actually need to let the ping dry out more during dormancy? Will the sundews survive drying out a bit with the ping? And if they need to be separated, when is the best time, and how would I go about it without bothering the roots too much?
Hi, I bought a Venus flytrap today and itâs pretty cool. I trimmed most of the leaves because They were black. It was the only one alive, but now I have it set up to thrive.đ Dose Anyone have pro tips?
New grow light for my carnivorous babyâs
I decided to repot my vft and NA trumpet. as expected, both were stuck in root traps, and they weren't even the paper ones that break down đ vft had the beginnings of root rot, which i trimmed and dipped in a hydrogen peroxide wash. traps on my vft kept rotting because they were touching the peat they were in previously, should i still watch out for that? how do i prevent it?
Yall my butterwortâs leaves are curling after transferring them from just sphagnum moss to a sandy chunky mix. Same light and water conditions. Any suggestions?
LOOK LOOK LOOOOOK!

hello! i have a nepenthes pitcher plant who was doing really well a few months ago, but then the leaves started dying. i think i might have forgotten to water at some point. i pruned back all the dead leaves, but he hasn't pushed out any new leaves or pitchers for over a month. i recently repotted him into this smaller pot and used new substrate. when i repotted him, i noticed he had no roots but the stem didn't feel rotted. i hope the smaller pot will encourage more root growth since the other pot may have been too large. i also removed it from the water tray and placed it in my carnivorous terrarium that receive bright direct light for 12-14 hours. I heard that pitcher plants don't like to stay as wet as sundews, so i've recently been watering every 2-4 days. any help with be appreciated!!!
This is a drosera âLotus Eaterâ doesnât seem to be a bunch online, but I just transplanted these two pups into thus very unusual planter. Any tips as they get settled in to prevent transplant shock?

So today we went to the garden centre and my 11 year old who is autistic discovered the vft and wanted it as he found this very awesome and very quickly became obsessed about it, I am very aware that this plant may become a me looking after it as some of his obsession can be very short lived, I am sure he will do his own research on it but I was wondering if anybody can give me some pointers so I can help him look after it proper and what exactly does it eat đ€Šââïž
