I need help with my sundew! First photo is now, second photo is what it looked like when I got it. When i first got the plant, I put it under my grow lights inside. It lost its color and stopped producing dew because of the low humidity, so I moved it outside. I live in the low country of South Carolina, so I expected that the high humidity would help. It did, but now after having the plant outside for a while itâs starting to look worse than ever. What am I doing wrong? Another note - I am aware that you are only supposed to water sundews with distilled water, but I didnât have any until very recently. Iâm not sure if using tap water would be enough to kill it but I have now switched over to distilled (past day or so) Please help me save my plant!
Heyo just was wondering on one question, I just got a Venus flytrap and itâs extremely healthy but I only have a north facing window in my bedroom. Can flytraps survive on lower light or should I transport it to my other rooms to stay as healthy as it is?
Hello! I am new to carnivorous plants. And I am about to get a flytrap. I was wondering what there is I need to know about this plant, tips, etc. I live in a dryer climate btw.
I just purchased my first carnivorous plant. A pitcher plant. Any suggestions?
Iâve been really wanting to get a small Venus flytrap, and I have a question thatâs probably really weird. Can Venus flytraps survive just on water, without flies or gnats? What is a Venus flytrapâs ideal setting?
Sheâs not eating. I picked the healthiest looking trap and nothing is the abt to big is she just not ready to receive a meal or what. I live in NY and gave her local rain water as I donât have access to distilled or r/o water sheâs in her original pot I purchased her from Loweâs. She has put out tiny traps at her base and have trimmed off black traps and leaves. (Update: Removed the ant) but still no trap closure upon further inspection the trap is a bit damaged but still.
Lily's first time opening up𼰠I feel like a proud mama.
First time VFTer here and I need any help I can get! I bought her with a long flower stalk so I let it bloom. Well now that it bloomed itâs dead and turning black. Is it safe to assume I can cut it off now? The rest of the plant is getting kind of leggy and stringy lookingâŚis this normal or do I need to intervene? Typically I bottom water frequently with rainwater. Yes, Iâm currently using a cake pan đ¤Śđźââď¸đŹ
Of 4 stems and two flower stalks Iâve got one left and I think itâs a good-un! There is an itty bitty baby trap coming in!!!! My first attempt(s) đ¤
Been having some issues with my pitched plant that I canât figure out. Itâs only on a couple leaves but I donât want it to get any worse. Any ideas on whatâs going on ?
It is very happy, but no pitchers! I am using tap water, should I switch to distilled? Should I fertilize? Can anyone spot a pest or disease? Thanks!
Trying to nurse this baby back to health. It used to be a pretty decent size but then just started dying, so I cut off all the black pieces and the dead stem sticking out. Took it out of its old pot and realized that the roots were wrapped in a cloth so I removed that and rinsed off the roots. Repotted it in spagnum moss, and have it sitting in water. Any other suggestions?
just got this baby akai ryu in an attempt to nurse him back to health. wish me luck đĽ˛
Cuteness alert!!! (zoom in for maximum effect x)
Lily is from a kit I bought from Home depot, this Saturday will make 4 weeks since I potted her. I was hoping if someone could tell me if she's growing properly since this is my first time.
Got this gal in the mail today! Iâm studying up on how to care for her. Just got some distilled water and brought the humidifier out. Any advice welcomed!
My Venus flytrap from a kit is growing now too! My pitcher plant has five growth points already :) I know I just did an update, but Iâm so happy theyâre growing bc I never thought it would work đ
Just picked these babies up from Carnivero here in ATX. The flytrap has been named âKing Henryâ per Carnivero and weâre keeping it! The Butterwort is now named âMapleâ. Excited to get these babies potted and growing!
Got this fly trap from a store a month or two ago, decided to try and save it as it wasnât doing well. Cut off the dead traps, full sun and good distilled water, and when the traps became healthy enough to close again I gave it two spiders I found. Thought it had been improving but now itâs getting brown/dead spots again and the traps donât respond when I move a dead bug around in them to feed it. Any advice as to why? Wondering if I should just cut all the traps at this point and solely focus on new growth from it
