Just added 3 more carnivorous plants to my collection ๐ค๐ค so happy, I got the drosera on discount from the garden centre still alive but obviously not thriving would love any info of how to get her looking happier

Wolfen ๐บThe sarracenia and the sundew should go in a watering tray. Water should be either Distilled, Reverse Osmosis, or Rain water for carnivorous. The dissolved minerals and chemicals in tap, filtered, or spring water is too much for them. Past the water you just want to provide the brightest light possible. My sarracenia i keep outdoors with Venus Flys traps. And sundews and pitchers and bladderworts i keep inside. Either in south facing window, or under grow lights. Heres one of my trays to give you an idea of water tray. I was just refilling it

Amazing thank you! I have a Venus fly trap that I keep in a disk of water so I was wondering if would be the same for any of these!

I use cooled kettle water to water my Venus fly traps and other plants do you think this meets the water criteria? I know the person at the garden centre said to use rain water but I feel like living in London itโll just be full of toxins

Yes, just like you're keeping the Venus should be great. As you can see i even keep some of my nepenthes like this. Though usually I let their tray dry out before refilling. And it's usually only a few cms deep. Vs the usual 1/2 way up the pot. If that's working.... I haven't ever had luck with tap or kettle water. But from the pounds price... I also don't think ya'll add all the crap the US does to its drinking water๐ฌ
