    Hi there, I’m not a carnivorous plant aficionado but my first thought is that the pot this baby is in is way too big to accommodate a small root ball. If it were me, I would pot it up into a pot so that the little traps don’t sit on top of the soil and instead hang over the edges of the pot. I suspect the root ball wouldn’t extend to where those traps are. You’ve got a little beauty there for sure!

      Thank you! From the last group I asked for help they recommended I put it in a bigger pot. I assumed it’d just grow comfortably throughout time and have plenty of space. The other one was way too small. They recommended me to repot due to the one that’s limp. (A family member ripped it off without my permission kinda grieving lol.) so now I only have 3.

      I see! Oh poor baby getting ripped, that must have felt like a little heartbreak for you as a caring plant parent! 💔 The thing with sizing up is that you just go up by a little bit. So with this plant’s original pot, if the diameter was about 6cm, you would go up to about 8cm. That way the roots get a bit more space to grow into. It takes a while so you size up bit by bit as the plant grows

      Thank you I’ll keep that in mind for the next repotting. I would hate to stress it out. Just repotted it about 1-2 days ago.

    what kind of soil is this? is it a carnivorous mix or just potting soil? these guys are bog plants, so they dont like taking in nutrients thru their roots and are sensitive to chemicals in water as well. sarracennia northwest has some great info on their website/youtube channel and i highly highly recommend checking them out! ps, size of the pot shouldnt matter too much with these guys, as long as the medium theyre in is constantly moist :)

      I made sure I used the proper soil. :) yea carnivorous soil. Thank you, I’ll check them out!
