Hey there! First time poster, long time listener. I’ve just brought in a few nepenthes and drosera with the short term goal of putting them to work on my fungus gnat infestation and long term goal of adding a terrarium just for the carnivorous crew when they get a little bigger. Any tips or tricks or tid bits to help them get to thriving
Sphagnum and orchid mix for soil, lots of water, lots of sun, and the occasional steam bath by the shower

Drosera will want a water tray. I actually have a few of my nepenthes in trays too. Or I water them till their drip tray is mostly full, then wait a day or so after it dries up to refill. Depending on if the nepenthes is low or high-land too much light can scorch them, so slowly acclimate them. I use a peat/perlite/sand mix for drosera and just spaphagum for most nepenthes. Water needs to be rain, R/O or distilled ideally. If you're not feeding or not a lot of food for them you can use maxsea fertilizer diluted way down.

0 Mi piace You should ONLY water traps if they are dry. And generally it means you aren't watering the plant itself enough. If you do find a dry trap, just fill it 1/4 way
