He just doesn't look well. Any advice? I'm only a couple of months into carnivorous plants.

What kind of lighting does it get and what kind of water are you using?
1 me gustaAlso I see it’s sitting in water, take it out of the water immediately. Only water when the top of the soil starts to feel dry. There are very very few Nepenthes that like to constantly sit in water.
0 Me gustaWill do! Thanks. I'm used to Cape Sundews so I may have been keeping it too wet. It's under a grow light (12 hours) and I only use distilled water. I never repotted it. I think it's in moss. It just doesn't seem to be doing much and I've had it for months.
1 me gustaYes it’s an easy mistake to make when you’re first starting out! It’s hard to tell the medium from these pictures but it looks very dark. A repot in some fresh moss would probably do it wonders, if it is in peat then yeah it needs to come out of there! Overall it doesn’t look too bad, the new growth looks healthy. Nepenthes roots are black so don’t freak out when you see all black roots lol as long as they are firm and kind of wiry. Just take it out of the water and pot in fresh moss if you have some and it should start thriving😃
0 Me gustaWhat kind of moss do I use? I have sphagnum and peat. And do I add anything to it? Thanks so much for your help and definitely the warning about the black roots because I would've freaked. Lol
