3 VFT and an Sundew I’ve owned a rather small VFT for some time now at least one grow season this summer is a year with it, my traps stay quite small not sure how to feed tiny traps? I can’t catch bugs that easy so any food recommendations. I also own a sun dew that I got at a plant show but it’s in a mason jar it’s been ok for a while but not looking to good and even sending off some runners not sure if I should keep it in there as idk how to go about repotting it and also need food recs for that as well. My final question is best method of keeping all these plants together I have 3 VFT variants and wanna keep them together I plan on using the saucer method for keeping them but was wondering on any experience with self watering pots and how well that worked as I’ve found some plant pots that could potentially accommodate my collection.

    I don’t own VFT but own a lot of sundew. What is the lighting situation for all these plants? VFT and sundew LOVE the sun. So as much light as possible. I would recommend repotting into 1:1 peat moss (I used the brand Espoma, or Premier is also fine) and perlite (brand Vigoro). Please DO NOT USE any of the Miracle-Gro products as they have nutrients in there. You can repot them individually into small pots or all together in bigger pot with drainage. I don’t think the people in carnivorous plant community ever used self watering pots. Just stick to the tray method, put the pots into a tray with distilled water.

      The jar ( I keep it closed ) is in receives a lot of light I have it under a grow light that gets an average 15hrs of light if I remember my lights go on round sunrise so like 6am ish and turn of 9pm

      My flytraps are under the same light and are currently in the pots I bought them in Ik it’s not sufficient substrate but they have held up well enough. I might need to turn off the fan in my room tho as none of the larger traps seems to entrance the flies to land on it.
