Hi! I recently got a venus fly trap from Lowe’s several weeks back. Since, I’ve repotted the plant into a deeper pot with a layer of Sphagnum moss and basic potting soil underneath and have been consistently bottom watering with recommended misting, but I noticed during repotting that the plant didn’t have many roots and what was there seemed to be rotted. It was doing a lot better after I repotted, but now it’s showing yellowing in the corners of the traps that are beginning to turn black. Is this crown rot? If so, what do I do??

    It might be in a two big pot and the traps only feed 4 times then die that least that was the way with my Venus fly trap and idk why the blackening is about

    The pot is probably too big for the size of the plant. For just a single plant like this I would say a smaller but tall pot. You don’t want any type of soil in it as well. They get all the nutrients they need from feeding and are fine in just the moss. The traps will turn yellow and die off if they’ve been triggered too many times or have fed a couple times. New ones will grow from the center of the plant. Make sure they are also only given rain water or reverse osmosis water.

    Have you tried dr. Planta? It seems to work pretty well 🙂

      I tried but no diagnoses was over 25% so I wasn’t sure. The top one was a lime sensitivity

      Hmmm that’s strange, I’m relatively new to flytraps so I wouldn’t give any advice but I really hope your gets better!! ❤️
