I just bought a fly trap from a Nursery. It came in a container that was cylinder shaped. The plant looks a bit droopy and the soil I mixed might be a little too damp still. Any tips to make sure it recovers well. Seems to be under stress

    hi! some tips from me would be to never use tap water: only distilled water, rainwater, or reverse osmosis water. make sure your soil is low in nutrients- no potting soil; ive heard peat moss is good. definitely make sure it gets enough light. i hope this helps!!

      I had a mix of Peat Moss and Perlite in there and made sure they were good and had no bad ingredients for the plant. So far I’ve only used distilled water so I think it’s doing good. Wanna make sure her recovers well :) thanks again!

    Your mix seems like it needs more perlite, it looks too peaty

      Yeah, I had to add just a tad bit more peat moss to it to fill it to the top somewhat so all the other mix below the small extra top layer of peat I added has perlite in it. That’s why it looks like it doesn’t have any

    With fly traps you are supposed to have around a inch and a half of distiled water in a container and place the pot in the water and don't water the soil keep putting more water in the container and not in the soil. Also I would recommend putting it in a smaller pot. Best of luck!
