I wanted to ask if anyone has some knowledge on Nepenthes ventrata or neps in general regarding pitcher production because I can’t seem to find a specific answer. So, the first picture is when I got this one and second is now. I’ve had it for 2 months in the same environment and it’s seemingly doing well. It’s growing new leaves and pitchers and has had only one pitcher drop after turning brown. My question is on the third pic you can see the normal pitcher starting on the tendril but maybe half or more growing always turn dry and brown like the last pic when they’re super small. The few others will grow into small red pink pitchers with fluid inside. So I’m not sure if that is normal process. I’m thinking that they probably don’t grow a pitcher on every leaf at one time due to energy and what not or maybe it’s because there’s enough viable pitchers on there for it’s size but that’s all I got. If it’s not that then I’m wondering is there a lack of something causing this like too much or little water/sun/humidity? For its current setup- it’s indoors in a south facing window that gets maybe 2-3 hours direct light but about 6-8 hours of indirect daily. Water it every couple of days when it feels just barely moist. The pot drains. It hasn’t dried out at all and humidity is usually around 50%. I give it any pesky flies and it seems to catch flies and moths on its own that sneak in as well. Any advice or help is greatly appreciated! 🙃

So for mine I misted those tiny baby pitchers everyday otherwise I found the same problem you’re having where they just shrivel up before anything happens. And I am otherwise totally a non-mister. I don’t mist anything as a general rule — except for baby pitchers

I keep mine in my bathroom so they get high humidity! They seem to enjoy this

I should try that! I live in foothills NC so right now temp is not far from inside during day but humidity can be like 80% plus some days so I try to leave it out in that some without shocking it.
