Is this normal?? In addition to the long center stem, the core (center) moss wrap that the plant originally came wrapped in has now turned black. This spring makes a full year of having this plant, and it was overwintered in the fridge as suggested.
The long center stem is a flower. I would replace the moss.

It’s flowering, if you collect the seeds you can plant them and have more Venus flytraps!

i would cut off the black traps to start. it also looks like it needs a lot more light - 6 hours of direct light at minimum! most people cut the flowers off to let the plant focus on new growth, but if youve never seen a VFT flower and would like to, feel free to let it bloom!
