Question on Alan: I started putting him outside for more light, but I notice it looks like the white part of the plant mix is getting burnt? Is this normal? If not how can I avoid this?

    are you bringing this in and out everyday? i don’t recommend that as the conditional changes can cause more harm than good and stress the plant

      It’s usually only outside from sunrise to sundown then I bring it in for the night

      yeah i wouldn’t do that - either leave it out or keep it in. too many changes. i’d read up some more on growing medium and keep it in the best lighting you’ve got indoors 💚

      In my situation that’s not possible sometimes as it gets too cold sometimes and it’s actually more of a difference to leave it outside in the night since our house is closer in temp than the night temps. Recently it’s been okay outside all the time though

    I agree with what was said before with leaving it outside, but the perlite browning is complete normal!

    the white part of the plant mix is called perlite, it’s a porous stone that aerates soil! it turns brown because dirt gets stuck in the pores, no worries about burning.
