Why does the algae keep popping up. This is the second time. I’ve already taken 1.5” off the top and put new mix(sphagnum and perlite) about a week ago. Moved to more ventilated area. Grow light 13ish hours a day distilled water only. Sitting in about an 1nch of water.
There's usually no way to get away from algae if its already present in a pot. Especially with carni, as you can't use the normal things yous use on other plants, since it can affect them negatively. Removing a top portion alone, just leaves the bottom portion to float up when the water rises. If you wanted a fair chance you'd need to remove everything and spray the plant itself down, removing all material. In my opinion its not worth it, the algae isn't going to impact it significantly. You could throw some peat on top and put in some live moss or small bladderwort species, if you just really hated the look of the algae.
