So I got a Venus fly trap like 3 weeks ago. I’m about to give up on this one and go get another one unless there’s something I can do to help it. I bought it because I’ve never had one and I always wanted it figured it was like almost every other plant so I brought it home. Started doing research on it and turns out it’s a very advanced plant. I took it out of that terrible pot. It comes in trimmed off all the dead ones inspected it repotted it in a Pete Moss soil. I’ve been keeping it consistently moist and then I found out it’s a bog plant. Meaning have it sitting in a little tray of water so I’ve been doing that using distilled water no fertilizer and it’s still dying so then I found out it has to have direct sunlight which I don’t have anywhere to put it for direct sunlight so I have it under a grow light. Do I have to feed it bugs? I’m honestly very confused of this plant because everything I’m reading is mixed. Is there anything I can do or should I just go buy a new one and restart, knowing the things that I know now and is there anything else I need to know? Also is this “food” good for them where I live in Michigan in winter time is next to impossible to either order live food or pick it up from the store(shipping delays due to cold) Or can I use dried mealworms?
