I recently bought two VFTs and starting to notice some white stuff near the roots and inner vines also some black on the traps themselves, what am I doing wrong? Or what do I need to do?

    We’ve had our Venus for a few months shy under a year and learned that it likes to shed regularly (turn black/die and grow plenty of new fresh ones) but urs looks different…especially with the white. I’m worried it’s fungal of some sort but not sure. Good luck I wish I could help

    Thank you for your response, what do you mean by different? Besides the white what else seems off to you?

      Tbh ur soil threw me off. I thought it was the plant and it looked pretty crispy lol but just soil 🤣 honestly the first thing that turns black is the trap itself so that’s normal. Does dry up and fall off but we try to stay on top of removing the dead parts just so it doesn’t risk getting sick and it does pretty well sprouting a bunch of new babies quickly after. Constantly reviving. Also normal for it to turn black after it eats a bug. It’s a very interesting plant for sure
