First time pitcher mom! My little buddy had been thriving (got him a week ago), but this morning I noticed one of his pitchers looks dried. Help please xoxo anxious pitcher mom

    Yep, perfectly normal for Nepenthes to lose pitchers after shipping due to stress, and on top of that, all pitchers eventually die off regardless. You can leave it until it dies back to the end of the tendril (point of the leaf), as it will continue photosynthesizing and absorbing nutrients until then. You can the. Trim the pitcher off to the tip of the leaf to make it more aesthetically pleasing!

      It’s really up to you. Like I said, I’d leave it be at least until the entire pitcher is brown so the plant can get as much out of it as possible. After that, there’s really no harm either way. Like I said, most people just do it because the plant is nicer to look at without the dead pitchers.

    A good way to keep pitchers/prevent them from drying out after changing their environment drastically is to bag acclimate them. You place them in a ziploc bag to keep the humidity as close to 100% as possible and slowly poke holes in the bag to acclimate them to your homes humidity over time. If it traveled through the mail another tip is to fill the spilled pitchers with RO/rain water. Remember not to use tap water or water with a TDS over 70 to water your nep and I’m always available here or on IG @nepenthomancer to help with anything nepenthes related.
