is this sunburn? my vft has been moved outside a little bit over a week ago. it was previously in a west window but now lives outside, facing east but gets direct sun for about 8-ish hours. these seem to be the only petioles affected. my NA pitcher next to it is also unaffected. if it helps, the shelves they sit on are partially covered by a tree, and the direct sun they get is dappled.
also- baby flower bud! i'm assuming this is a stress flower because of the sunburn, so it shall be removed before it blooms, but fun to look at for now
Yes, that is sunburn, I wouldn’t worry about it though, your plant will adjust with time and should continue growing just fine.

They have to be acclimated one hr one day two hrs next day etc . If the weather going to be over 85°f place them in a shaded area in the backyard
1 me gusta are they actually sensitive to heat? they're from the carolinas, i expected them to be a little more tolerant.
0 Me gusta That's true, I've lost so many vft having them in high temperature above 85° they can get sunburn just like us, it takes time for them to tolerate that much sun beating down on them. They can be in higher temperature as long as it's filtered like a shade cloth or under trees
