Hi guys! I’ve never owned a Venus fly trap before but I had to save this little guy from Trader Joe’s. He gets plenty of sunlight and I usually always have the windows open here and it’s around 90-100 degrees outside where I am. He still looks a little sad, any tips?!
I’m thinking it’s thirsty! Here some general care info: • They cannot have any fertilizer or regular soil; its probably in carnivorous soil, but sphagnum moss works too • They drink A LOT so it's a good idea to have a tray of water under the nursery pot • They don't need to eat flies very often. They get their energy from light, just like other plants. Bugs are fertilizer for them, so even just 1 fly a month is good. • The trap will die after eating ~ 3 bugs. Don't worry; it'll grow a new trap.
